#4 How I Built The First Successful Private Interventional Pulmonology Program with Dr. Nina Maouelainin

Who would have thought that Dr. Nina Maouelainin, originally from Morocco, would successfully pursue her dream of becoming a physician in the USA? Not even herself!

After completing medical school, she went on the complete her residency and subsequently a fellowship program in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Maouelainin met phenomenal mentors that led one of the first accredited interventional pulmonology fellowships at a time when the field of interventional pulmonology was in its infancy.  She later noticed a gap in the medical field that needed to be filled, which led to her establish the first successfully run private interventional pulmonology program in Philadelphia in 2011, drawing upon her extensive training in the field and program leadership experience.

Join us in today’s episode as Dr. Maouelainin shares her personal journey in increasing lung cancer awareness. You might want to have a pen and paper close to you!

In a nutshell, we talk about:

  • Why Dr. Maouelainin started Lung Health Services,  Dr. Nina Lung Foundation, and the WIIP.
  • Some of the transformations that have happened because of her work.
  • Her message to doctors with no idea of where to start.

…and so much more!
